In the 21st century, when Covid – 19 was on the rise and the lockdown happened, E – Pharmacy reported a 2 fold increase in the need of ad hoc medicines from both urban and suburban. The impending lockdowns broke all supply chains and also resulted in a 250% attrition rate of gig workers (the backbone of the last mile delivery system). The solution to the aforementioned turmoil, according to us, is a automation. A drone delivery system allows for expedited services made much cheaper, the biggest benefit being nil human exposure which is very crucial at this moment.
Flylife, a proof of concept project sponsored by The Ford Fund, USA and the NewGen IEDC Program, aims to determine the feasibility of carrying out vaccine and medicine deliveries on an ad-hoc basis in a post-COVID19 world using drones. FlyLife aims to solve problems of last mile delivery with the spirit of innovation.
